Rural Innovation in Action
Facilitated by UK Government Funding, formerly known as Levelling Up funding, Rural Innovation in Action (RIIA) is a joint programme of work by Melton Borough Council and Rutland County Council.
RIIA received £23.95 million following a nationwide bid process in 2023. The grant is being used to fund four ambitious projects across two towns in the East Midlands – Melton Mowbray and Oakham.
The programme of work will enhance economic development in the area by creating a food innovation showcase in Melton Mowbray, a health and digital showcase in Oakham and a demand responsive transport service that links the two.
