What works are taking place and how will I be affected?
On March 28 2024 works will start at Melton Sports Village, including:
- Sanding, sealing, and relining of the sports hall floor to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for various activities.
- Installation of a dividing wall in the sports hall.
- Removing gym equipment from the gym to half the sports hall
- Creation of the temporary gym in half the sports hall
During this time the gym and sports hall will be closed to the public but outdoor activities and other studio will still be available.
Works are due to be completed by Monday 8 April 2024.
Whilst the works are taking place, customers can use the facilities at Waterfield Leisure Centre.
From 8 April, sports hall bookings will be available for half the sports hall.
Works will then start in turning the gym at MSV, into a Studio (this is due to last approximately 5 weeks), a staggered approach to the rest of the site will then take place to ensure continuity of service.
Works will take place at Waterfield Leisure Centre once the Melton Sport Village refurbishment is complete (with the exception of soft play).
Waterfield will be required to close for up to 3 days (date currently TBC) so that all the gym equipment can be transferred over to the temporary gym at MSV.
Works take place to create an additional gym floor at Waterfield are anticipated to begin approximately in the middle of May 2024. Other areas of Waterfield Leisure Centre will be cordoned off whilst work is undertaken.
It is our understanding that the soft play due to be installed at Melton Sports Village will only be put in once the temporary gym has been removed from Melton Sports Village and the gym has been completed at Waterfield Leisure Centre.
Everyone Active will provide further updates as the works progress.
