Candidates: Who can you vote for? 

The Statement of Persons Nominated lists the Candidates who are standing in Melton and Syston constituency for the General Election on 4 July. This is available to view in the Downloads panel at the bottom of this page.

Key dates for Candidates and Agents

Once a General Election is called, specific dates are set out in law for the steps leading up to the Election which cannot be changed. 

Below are a number of key dates which candidates and agents will need to be aware of:

Nomination Packs are available 

These will be available to collect from the Elections Office at the Council's Parkside Offices, Burton Street, Melton Mowbray, Leics., LE13 1GH.
Tuesday 28 May 2024, from 1pm
Publication of Notice of Election Monday 3 June 2024
Deadline for Receipt of Nominations, withdrawal of candidates and appointment of election agents

Completed nomination packs must be hand-delivered to the Acting Returning Officer via the Elections Office. Please contact ElectionServices@melton.gov.uk to book an appointment to enable forms to be checked and confirmed.

Publication of Statement of Persons Nominated including Notice of Poll and Situation of Polling Stations Friday 7 June 2024, 5pm
Deadline for Appointment of Poll and Count Agents Thursday 27 June 2024
