We are holding a Leicestershire County Council election on Thursday 1 May 2025.

Details of who is standing for election in your area will be published by no later than 5pm 2 April 2025.

Standing for Election

A candidate and agent briefing will be held for prospective candidates at 5:30pm 25 February 2025 at the Council Offices. The session will cover an overview of the election process, with a specific focus on the completion of nomination papers. Please contact the Election team by calling 01664 502502 or e-mailing electionservices@melton.gov.uk to register your attendance.

If you would like to stand as a candidate in this election, you must submit a valid nomination form by 4pm 2 April 2025 to the Deputy Returning Officer at the Council Offices, Parkside, Station Approach, Burton Street, Melton Mowbray LE13 1GH. You should make an appointment to do this, where an informal check of your papers will be offered.

Nomination forms can be found on the Electoral Commission website, or a pack can be requested from the Elections team.
