Public Toilets
We manage both Wilton Road Public Toilets and St Mary’s Way public toilets in Melton Town Centre.
The toilets are:
- open between 8am till 8pm every day of the year (except for Christmas day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day).
- fully accessible
- have baby changing facilities
- 50p cost to access

Disabled access
Our toilets have full facilities for individuals with extra needs.
A radar key provides access to the disabled toilets outside of the normal opening times. You can buy a radar key if one of the following applies.
You are:
- a blue badge holder for a vehicle
- in receipt of Disability Living Allowance (DLA) - Mobility Component
- in receipt of Attendance Allowance
- in receipt of Personal Independence Payments (PIP) - Mobility Component
If you are issued with a key this should be for your own use, other able bodied family members are not entitled to use the radar key.
How to purchase a radar key
Radar Keys cost £9.48 each and can be purchased from us by contacting our customer services team. It is collection only and payment is via cheque. Upon collection of the key you will need to bring in qualifying documents (in date Blue Badge, Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance or PIP).
Alternatively, you can purchase a Radar Key from Shopmobility, St Marys Way, LE13 1YE.
If you no longer need your radar key
If you have a radar key and no longer need it, please return it to us as soon as possible.
Melton Town Centre also offers Changing Places toilets.
These toilets are spacious and have additional facilities, including benches and hoists, for those that may need them.

Special events
The public toilets are often open outside normal opening times when community events take place in the town. For example the:
- Melton Country Fair,
- Melton Mowbray Show,
- Victorian Christmas Fayre
- Christmas lights switch-on.
