Parks and open spaces
There are a number of parks in Melton. Melton Country Park is managed by the council whilst the parks in the town centre are managed by Melton Mowbray Town Estate.

Melton Country Park
Explore 140 acres of wildlife lakes, footpaths trails and children's play areas in the Country Park, just a ten minutes walk from the town centre.

Play Close
Play Close is the back garden of St Mary’s Church and hosts some of the town’s premier events throughout the year, including the Melton Country Fair, the annual hunt meet on New Year’s Day, fairs, circus' and other seasonal events. Play Close has a Children's Play Area and specialised play equipment suitable for a wheel chair or push chair.

Priors Close
Priors Close is a beautiful park, with a lake and bridge. It's a haven for wildlife, as well as a place to sit and reflect. There is also an open air Skate Park.
During the summer months, band concerts can be enjoyed on a Sunday afternoon in New Park.

Wilton Park
Wilton Park is the sporting park with tennis courts, five-a-side football, pitch & putt, the Mowbray Train, outdoor Gym Equipment and small children’s playground, picnic areas and tranquil gardens. The Pavilion Cafe has indoor and outdoor seating available, toilet facilities and parking. The site can be booked for children’s parties to include the miniature train.

Egerton Park
Egerton Park has two football pitches let to both Saturday and Sunday league teams. It also has showers and changing rooms. It is the home of Egerton Park Cricket Club. It plays host to major Town events, like Melton Day and sporting events.
